Shania, Carrie, Carly, Miranda..... JUST TO NAME A FEW

Powerhouses of Country Music.....

From udiscovermusic.com the comment reads "Shania Twain opened the door for a range of female country singers, with some joining her pop-rock crossover, while others are going the traditional route." From Any Man of Mine to Jesus Take the Wheel the women in country music are powerhouses and are not going to stand on the curb as bystanders; they are jumping in with both feet and amazing voices.

Family, Buses, Stages, OH My...

Having watched artist like Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Carly Pearce on stage I truly am in complete awe of their talents and the power of their performances. All of the women of Country Music are so talented, many of them are married and are raising children. Many times the kids are on the tour bus behind stage and traveling between shows with their parents. The dedication to continue their careers on the stage and still try to lead a somewhat normal life for their family deserves nothing but respect.

I didn't know what to expect when I was heading into the pit to see Carrie Underwood at Country Fest. I knew that it was going to be a great show.. I knew she was going to rock the stage... I also knew that she had some of the best music out by a female artist that year but what I didn't expect to see was this be this petite, beautiful woman but her lung capacity has to out weigh her! I honestly don't know how she does it. Now, don't get me wrong, I know she has an AMAZING voice but until you actually see an artist on stage you don't get the "big picture" of how impressive their voice really is.... Carrie put on the most amazing show that warm summer night in June. Pure respect to this lady.

The Struggle is REAL..

The women of country music see the struggles of this profession and it was said well in an article from Taste of Country on October 18,2018 the day after the CMT Artist of the Year Ceremony. The paragraph reads "The message and consequences are clear: Change, or an entire generation risks being muted. Change, or country music's best artists will take their music to New York City or pop radio. Perhaps what's clear now that wasn't before is that the women involved recognize it's going to be a long fight if true change is the goal. In a good year, just 25 percent of the Top 100 country songs were by lead females. Could we get to 30, 40 or even (gasp!) 50 percent women and live there? That's going to take a cultural shift, not just an industry shift."
I truly hope to see this trend of these beautiful women on stage at area festivals rise, they all have so much talent, amazing voices and the best stories to tell..
